Mental Health Care Plans

Your Pathway to Professional Support

Holding Hands

A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a tailored plan created by your GP to help you access subsidized psychological or counselling services. This plan can provide you with greater access to affordable mental health support, making it easier for you to get the help you need for emotional and psychological challenges.

A Mental Health Care Plan is a formal document developed by your GP that outlines your mental health needs and treatment goals. It can include referrals to psychologists, counsellors, or social workers who are eligible to provide services under Medicare.

Once your GP has assessed your needs, they will provide a referral for up to 10 individual therapy sessions per calendar year (subject to Medicare guidelines). If additional sessions are needed, your GP can review and adjust the plan accordingly.

How to get started with a Mental Health Care Plan

Leaf Pattern Design

1

Make an Appointment with Your GP

Discuss any mental health concerns you’re facing, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress. Your GP will assess your situation and determine whether a Mental Health Care Plan is right for you.

2

Create the Plan

If appropriate, your GP will develop a Mental Health Care Plan tailored to your needs. This plan may include referrals for therapy with one of our qualified counsellors or social workers.

3

Access Subsidized Sessions

Once your plan is in place, you can access up to 10 sessions per year with a mental health professional, such as our team, at a significantly reduced cost.

You do not need a referral to start this journey! Just contact us for a first appointment.

On the contrary, you may also contact your GP to discuss whether a Mental Health Care Plan is right for you. Once you have your referral, reach out to us to schedule an appointment with Medicare rebates
